Wind Potential Assessments – Vračev Gaj Project, Serbia

Project description: Fintel Energija d.o.o., a daughter company of Fintel Multiservizi, Italy, was founded with aim to be one of the first companies in Serbia that would invest in wind power. Having in mind the good wind potential of South East part of AP Vojvodina, Vračev Gaj site (near Bela Crkva town) has been selected for wind potential measurements. Vračev Gaj is one of the first wind measuring sites in Serbia. Founding for the project was provided by the Fintel Multiservizi. One 50 m tubular measurement mast had been erected and measurements are being conducted on three levels: 10, 30 and 50 m above ground. Following services had to be performed to determine wind potential assessments:

• attractive wind conditions,
• reasonable access to electrical transmission,
• terrain favourable to construction,
• land use and environmental compatibility.

Major consulting and engineering services provided by SEEC were:

• Project management and coordination;
• Selection of the best site for wind potential measurement and site visits;
• Determination of mast micro-location;
• Mast and equipment installation (and dismantling) including preparation of necessary technical and legal documentation;
• Recalibration of the instruments;
• Acquisition, check and processing of data;
• Preparation of wind potential study;
• Presentation of the project;
• Advisory services and recommendation for further activities on the project;
• Communication with relevant authorities.
