Project description: Wind potential of Montenegro lies in “Bura” (NW wind) and “Jugo” (S wind) winds. Although the wind potential in coast region of Montenegro is estimated as the best, it was found that the wind potential in Žabljak region is quit good. Therefore, a 50 m measurement mast has been erected and measurements were conducted on three levels: 10, 30 and 50 m above ground. Due to the rough winter conditions, the mast was equipped with heating anemometers and wind vanes. In the process of project development, the Consultant was responsible for all stages, from site selection to the wind potential study. The project aim was to build a wind farm with total installed capacity of 10-20 MW and hence to improve the power system of Montenegro. Major consulting and engineering services provided by SEEC were:
