Project description: In August 2006 SEEC contracted with the World Bank project entitled: Updating Generation Investment Study for South East Europe. The project objective was the analysis of the base line power system development of the integrated South East Europe Region up to the year 2020, with revised coal prices for Kosovo thermal power plants, as well as with new oil and gas prices. In addition to the analysis of the base line power system development of the integrated South East Europe Region up to the year 2020, with revised fuel prices, a sensitivity analysis was performed for scenarios with oil and gas prices variation, as well as for the scenario with the introduction of carbon dioxide emission taxes. Elimination of non-profitable rehabilitation projects from the GIS study was done by using the WASP package. The project was finished in October 2006.
