Technical Assistance to the PIU in Design, Procurement Activities and Supervision of the IDA Financed Components of the ECSEE APL3-BiH Project for TPPs, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Project description: The objective of this assignment was to assist the PIU of Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske (EPRS) in the procurement, contract administration and supervision of the IDA-financed components of the ECSEE APL3-BiH Project, as follows:

• Replacing the monitoring and automatic control system at the Ugljevik thermal power plant
• Rehabilitation of the water treatment system and other monitoring systems at the Ugljevik TPP
• Reconstruction of the water cooling system at the Ugljevik TPP;
• Replacing the plant for own electricity consumption at the Ugljevik TPP;
• Replacing the waste water treatment system at the Gacko TPP;
• Replacement of the ash and slag transportation system at the Gacko TPP; and
• Reconstruction of the TPP Gacko 0,4 kV plant.

The specific tasks of the consultant included following:

• Review of existing documentation (technical solutions, specifications and BOQs) prepared by the Client,
• Preparation of reports,
• Preparation of tender documents and assistance in the tendering process;
• Supervision of the works execution, including: preparation of the implementation schedule; monitoring of timeliness and quality of delivery, installation, testing and putting into operation by the contractors; supervision of budget; etc.
