Project description: The Project was seeking to bring awareness to and solutions for the coming environmental and energy challenges facing the European community. SUSPLAN was focused on developing strategies, recommendations, and benchmarks for the integration of renewable energy sources (RES) by 2030-2050 within an Europe-wide context. The work was covered activities within working package 2 (WP2) in the SUSPLAN project, and includes the following activities:

o Identification of barriers that can limit or reduce the estimates to practical RES levels: Technical, Economical, Environmental, Political, Social (public attitude)

o 2050 Static End Use Energy Efficiency Potentials

o Identification of barriers that can limit or reduce the estimates to practical RES levels: Technical, Economic, Market/Economic, Administrative, Social (public attitude)

o Possible new capacities and routes
o Technologies - Assessment of load flexibility, i.e. evaluate to what extent consumption will depend on price.
