Project description: The aim of WEBSEDFF - Western Balkans Sustainable Energy Direct Financing Facility - is to provide debt financing to local industrial SMEs (the "borrowers") for industrial energy efficiency and (small) renewable energy projects in eligible countries in the Western Balkans. The Facility is supported by EBRD with up to EUR 100 million; individual loans extended under the Facility are generally expected to be between EUR 2 million and EUR 6 million. WeBSEDFF draws upon EBRD's internal resources for project evaluation and decision making and relies on the Consultants (Consortium Fichtner-S.E.E.C. LTD.) for business development, energy project preparation/verification as well as other technical and legal tasks. The overall objective of the assignment is to assist the launch and implementation of the WeBSEDFF in eligible countries. By providing debt financing for energy projects, the Facility is expected to initiate a self-sustaining market for investment in small-scale sustainable energy projects in the Western Balkans (www.websedff.com).
