Project description: TPP Nikola Tesla B (TENT - B) was built in accordance with up to date technical and technological knowledge, standards and regulations that were in force at the beginning of the 1980s. The TPP is designed for phased construction. The first phase of construction is implemented in 1985 and includes two power units (blocks) B1 and B2, which after revitalization have installed capacity of 2x670 MW (1,340 MW in total), and are at the moment the two largest power units in Serbia. In the future it is planned to build additional new power unit B3 with installed power up to 800 MW. Beside regular maintenance works on the TPP aimed at extending the working lifetime of the units, with increasing energy efficiency and reliability, the EPS's revitalization/upgrading programs also include environmental protection and air-pollution mitigation measures to be implemented in accordance with the requirements of the current environmental regulations in this field in Serbia and the EU. The main objective of this project is the construction of the new Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) plant for TPP TENT units B1 and B2 in order to limit and reduce air emissions and improve the environment in Serbia and comply with EU pollution directives/regulations bearing in mind entry into the EU in the future. This assignment is to ensure the timely and successful tendering, contracting, construction, installation, commissioning and operation of the future flue gas desulphurization (FGD) at TPP TENT B.
